This progressive program is the same information as our Certification for Aromatherapy Program.

Once completed, you’ll earn your Essential Oil Specialist Certification.

Step 2: Complete the Aromatherapy Certification Program with the Experiential Aromatherapist Training

Do I need any prior experience to start the Essential Oil Specialist Program?
No prior experience is required. This course is designed to be approachable for all levels — whether you're brand new to essential oils or looking to deepen what you already know.
What’s the difference between Part 1 and Part 2 of the program?
Part 1 (Essential Oil Specialist) lays the foundation — you’ll learn essential oil safety, usage, and therapeutic application. Part 2 is where you meet the Aromatherapy Certification requirements by working directly with clients, completing case studies, and building professional-level skills.
Is Step 2 included in the Essential Oil Specialist tuition, or is there an additional fee?
Step 2 — The Aromatherapy Certification Program: Practical Applications — is not included in the Essential Oil Specialist tuition. It is a separate course with an additional fee and is available to students who have completed Part 1 and are ready to continue toward full certification.
Can I take just Step 1 and not continue to certification?
Yes. Many students take Step 1 to confidently use essential oils at home or integrate them into personal projects or informal settings. If you later decide to pursue certification, you can pick up right where you left off.
How long does it take to complete each part?
Most students complete Step 1 in 3-8 months, depending on their schedule. Step 2 typically takes another 3–12 months, especially while working through client case studies. You’ll have lifetime access and 2 years to complete Step 2.
What kind of support will I get during the program?
You’ll have access to ongoing support through course materials, instructor guidance with live events and in Part 2, a dedicated Case Study Instructor who will walk alongside you through the client work and certification requirements.
Will I be certified after completing Step 1?
Step 1 earns you a Certificate of Completion and the title Essential Oil Specialist. To become a fully Certified Aromatherapist, you’ll need to complete Part 2, which includes case studies and additional certification requirements.
Can I use what I learn in this course to start a business?
