How Adriana carried plant medicine across two careers.
My life and academical routes are anything but ‘'standard''. What are the chances to have a doctor, a nurse and an aromatherapist under the same roof? Right! Very rare indeed!
I was born in Romania and graduated from medical school in 1996. After practicing as a family doctor for 2 years I emigrated to Canada (Montreal) in 1998 and started a new life and a new career. In 2001, I graduated from the Nursing School of University of Montreal and worked for 12 years as a Bachelor Nurse at Montreal Heart Institute. My scientific knowledge, experience in healthcare and personal qualities helped me to develop a carrier in nursing as a Head Nurse, Clinical Adviser and later as a Clinical Coordinator.
Since childhood, I was fascinated by the powers of the medicinal herb, ointments and concoctions that my grandparents and parents routinely used to help me and other family members when they were sick or had health problems. There was scarcity of pharmaceutical drugs and products in those days, so a lot of plants were used for their therapeutic proprieties. I never forgot that and now with the Aromatherapy Certification (Aromahead Institute, 2018), with all the knowledge and experience that I have, I am looking forward to putting all this to good work and help those in need around me.
