DIY Natural Acne Roll-On with Essential Oils
Get the benefits of aloe & essential oils for acne
The base: aloe vera for DIY natural acne roll-ons
Aloe vera gel has been widely researched.
We know it has natural benefits for:
Calming inflammation
Reducing microbes (including bacteria that can cause acne)
Helping the skin repair damaged areas
Anti-aging skincare (it fights free radicals!
And so much more!
That's why I love using aloe for DIY acne recipes.
This natural acne roll-on uses aloe vera gel and
microbe-clearing, inflammation-calming essential oils.
It's made in a convenient 10 ml roll-on bottle, so you can use it throughout the day to quiet existing breakouts (and prevent future ones).
Wild Carrot Acne Care Roll-On
9 ml Aloe vera gel (Aloe barbadensis)
1 ml Solubol (dispersant)
4 drops Wild carrot essential oil (Daucus carota)
2 drops Patchouli essential oil (Pogostemon cablin)
Directions
Pour your aloe vera gel and Solubol into the glass roll-on bottle. You may need a small funnel, since the top of the bottle is small.
Solubol is a dispersant. Since essential oils are . . . well . . . oils, they won't disperse into the water-based aloe vera gel. Solubol provides the dispersing action we need to keep our blend safe for skin application. If you don't have Solubol, feel free to use 1 ml jojoba oil (Simmondsia chinensis) as a substitute.
Add the drops of essential oil.
Snap the roller-ball top into the bottle, and shake well.
Use your Wild Carrot Acne Care Roll-On as a spot treatment in the morning, at night, and any time throughout the day.
This DIY natural acne roll-on is safe to use as often as you like. It can help reduce breakout-causing microbes, calm inflammation, and allow your skin to create a natural, radiant, smooth complexion.
About the essential oils in this natural acne roll-on
I'm not including too many essential oils in this blend. The aloe vera is amazing all by itself.
The oils I did choose are rich in components that support the aloe's actions.
Wild Carrot essential oil
Daucus carota
Wild Carrot contains geranyl acetate and a-pinene, two components that have shown actions against microbes on the skin and which can also soothe inflammation.
Wild Carrot oil has a beautiful, earthy, woody scent.
Patchouli essential oil
Pogostemon cablin
This earthy, sweet oil is a classic for natural acne recipes! Aromahead's co-founder Andrea Butje used it in one of our most popular acne recipes on YouTube.
It contains a rare component called patchoulol. Numerous studies demonstrate this component contributes to Patchouli oil's inflammation-calming effects.
Like Wild Carrot, Patchouli oil also helps get rid of microbes.
I hope this DIY natural acne roll-on helps you!
