Do you have a go-to trick to remove the sticky residue?

I know that some people use cooking spray (which can contain ingredients that are not natural), rubbing alcohol, or kerosene (I can almost smell the fumes now!). Then there is the ever-popular "rub it a lot with your finger and hope the residue forms balls so you can pluck it off" method.

I've got a way to remove sticky residue naturally that I think you will love! I created the recipe for the Aromahead app.

This recipe makes 2 oz (56 gm) of sticky residue remover.

I use a PET plastic jar. (We're not using essential oils, and PET is known as  a non-reactive plastic that doesn't leach, so it's great for this recipe.) All you need is the following:

  • 1 oz (28 gm) Baking soda

  • 1 oz (28 gm) Coconut oil (Cocos nucifera)

The coconut oil may be in liquid or solid form, depending on the temperature it's stored at. If yours is solid, you can melt it by putting it in a Pyrex measuring cup and putting the Pyrex in a soup pot that is 1/4 full of water. Bring the water to a gentle boil, and the heat will surround the Pyrex and melt the coconut oil.

First, pour your coconut oil into the jar. Then slowly stir in your baking soda. To use it, just put a little of the sticky remover on an abrasive sponge, and rub.

The baking soda offers a nice, gentle abrasive action, while the coconut oil helps the residue slide right off!

This recipe is one of the 72 I created for the Aromahead app, "Natural Remedies with Aromatherapy.

The 72 recipes cover green cleaning, pain relief, relaxation, and more.

I created an aromatherapy app because so many people aren't in a place to reach for a book when they need the recipes the most. The app is like having an aromatherapy book on hand all the time! The recipes aren't published anywhere else.

Can I share a little feedback I've received from someone who's bought the app?

"Beautifully designed and great recipes! Great ways to stay healthy without all the medications, amazing green cleaning ideas and recipes to relax with aromatherapy! This app has an easy-to-follow design, and all recipes give clear instructions. I especially love the recipes for Disinfectant Spray, Yoga Mat Mist Spray and the Headache Inhaler. Very well done app!"
