3 DIY Trauma Oil Recipes for Natural Relief
Did you just stumble into the corner of the furniture and got a bruise on your shin?
Are you constantly battling stiffness and pain in your joints, fingers, and wrists?
Sounds like a DIY Trauma Oil recipe could be your ideal home remedy!
But first, what exactly is Trauma Oil?
There's no standard "one-size-fits-all" Trauma Oil recipe, but it essentially comprises a carrier oil, steeped with a blend of medicinal herbs.
Typically, Trauma Oil begins with organic, extra-virgin olive oil as a base, which is then enriched with infusions of arnica, St. John's wort, and calendula. Of course, there can be variations depending on individual preferences or local suppliers.
If you're inclined to create your own DIY Trauma Oil, I recommend infusing these herbs separately.
Ensure the herbs you use are organic and as fresh as possible, particularly the St. John's wort. Calendula flowers do need to be dried.
Place each herb in a separate glass jar, and fill the jar with your chosen organic carrier oil. Allow each jar to steep for around 4-6 weeks. Once your oils are sufficiently infused, strain the herbs out and combine the oils into one jar.
Voila! You've got your homemade DIY Trauma Oil!
Alternatively, you can also purchase ready-made Trauma Oil from companies that produce it naturally.
So, what are the uses of Trauma Oil?
The name gives a hint!
Trauma Oil is a balm for inflamed, painful areas (where the skin is not broken), providing soothing relief when massaged into these regions. It has an impressive capacity to ease inflammation. It's effective for bruises, joint and muscle aches, and even neck tension. It can even be incorporated into DIY recipes for headache relief!
While Trauma Oil can provide relief on its own, blending in essential oils can heighten its natural pain alleviation properties, offering even greater comfort.

Trauma Oil is also a great ingredient in other DIY aromatherapy recipes. Try blending it with butters or beeswax to make a salve!
