How reading labels changed Khristina’s path.
My journey towards aromatherapy began in 2013, shortly after my second child was born. Eventually, having to supplement with formula and baby food, curiosity led me to read labels and ingredients. To my surprise, toxic chemicals, additives, and preservatives are hidden not only in our food, but also in the most decadent and mundane personal care products and conventional remedies that we use everyday!
It took some time to get my family on board, but developing healthier eating habits was only the first step. Few lifestyle changes were made to eat wholesome and pesticide-free food, use all-natural cleaning and body care products as opposed to heavy laden chemicals.
Additionally, as a dental hygienist, my own faulty occupational habits caused for relentless pursuits of non-conventional pain remedies. I began to search for available natural ingredients which always led back to essential oils and botanical plants. After reading various articles and scientific journals, I realized how natural and safe essential oils truly are.
Although it took about two years to complete the program, I have gotten to have personally experienced the profound therapeutic effects of essential oils and witnessed an amazing health transformation! Then something even more remarkable happened... volunteers from my case studies asked to purchase my original custom blends (some of which are currently being offered at Dharmaroma).
Curious to learn what other dental hygienists are using to relieve stress from repetitive motions, I searched and found not one company offering all-natural remedies formulated specifically for dental hygienists. I did not plan to start an aromatherapy business serving dental professionals. I am simply one consumer who happened to stumble upon a missed opportunity, a gap in the dental hygiene industry.
A full-time hygienist by day and an all-around mother, I used every bit of my spare time creating Dharmaroma, which I have truly enjoyed! My Dharma (purpose) is to be on a mission to help touch as many hygienists' and others lives by sharing all-natural remedies from botanical treasures and gifts that are readily made available to us by Mother Nature!

I wanted to learn the safety and the science behind essential oils for my family's personal use; being a certified aromatherapist after completion of the program was just an added bonus for me in the beginning!
