The science, completed

A Journey Through Anatomy, Physiology & Pathophysiology (76 hours, a $595 value) shows you how oils work in harmony with the human body, and the Component Blending course (28 hours) deepens the chemistry. Both are included in this pathway.

Practice

Real people, real blends

Your twenty mentored client case studies: you assess, blend, and report, and your personal case-study instructor, an advanced professional aromatherapist on our team, reads every report and answers with specific feedback.

Prove

The paper, the exams, the title

Research and write a paper on a topic you choose, then pass the written exam and the final certification exam. All of it lives inside the course, with your instructor beside you the whole way.

Complete Pathway 3 and you have met the education requirement for NAHA Level 2, Certified Professional Aromatherapist®, and AIA Level 2. You may put the title after your name, join both bodies as a credentialed professional, and carry insurance for client work. Along the way you also earn the Essential Oil Specialist Certificate at the coursework milestone: two certificates, one path.

Do I actually need certification to practice aromatherapy?
In the US, aromatherapy is not regulated by the states or the federal government, so no license is required to practice. Certification is how you prove your skill: it lets you join NAHA and AIA as a professional, carry liability insurance, charge with confidence, and answer the question every client eventually asks.
What do NAHA and AIA actually mean?
The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy and the Alliance of International Aromatherapists are the field’s two main US professional bodies. Each defines education levels; completing Pathway 3 meets the education requirement for NAHA Level 2 and AIA Level 2. The word "Level" belongs to them, which is why our own four are called Pathways.
I’m scared of the exam.
The exam is real, and so is the preparation. By the time you reach it you have worked through every topic it covers, with a personal instructor reading your work all the way. And two things take the fear out of it: the exam lives right inside the course, taken whenever you are ready, and you can retake it as many times as you need until you pass. The quizzes at the end of each module give you a real feel for how the exam asks its questions.
Where do I find clients for the case studies?
Friends, family, coworkers, and your community. The program guides you through recruiting them, and nobody fails for lack of strangers.
How long will it really take?
Eight to twelve months from start is the guided pace, alongside work and family. It is self-paced beyond that, with lifetime access, so the timeline bends around your life.
I already own Pathway 2, or courses from years past. What do I pay?
Only what is new to you: that is how the path is designed. Email team@aromahead.com with the email you study under, and we will send your personal price, usually within a day. Prefer to pick and choose? Every course is also available on its own in the course catalog. Either way, everything you own stays yours, and every credit hour keeps counting.
I trained at another school. Which price do I pay?
The complete price: $2,395 covers every course in Pathways 1 through 3. Aiming just for the credential? The certification course on its own is $2,195 and fully self-contained: the coursework the exams are built on, plus all the credential work. Move-up prices are reserved for students who own the Aromahead pathway below. Your prior hours still matter: email team@aromahead.com and we will help you work out what carries.
Should I take the Bundle or the certification course only?
The honest steer: the Bundle is $200 more than the course alone and adds every Pathways 1–2 course plus Component Blending, about $1,500 of additional coursework. Both include the Certification cohort and 3 free months of membership (first-time members). Choose the course only if you want the credential and nothing else.
Can I afford it?
The Bundle is $2,395, or 6 monthly payments of $415, with longer plans at checkout. And the 7-day refund policy means the decision is not final for a week.
Is this recognized outside the US?
NAHA and AIA recognition travels well, and Aromahead students study in more than 150 countries. IFPA, the UK-based body, continues at Pathway 4.
The pathway beyond

Certification helps people who are well. Clinical helps people who are unwell.

Some day a client will ask about chemotherapy, pregnancy, or a complex illness, and you will feel the edge of your training.
