Easy-to-Make Moisturizer Recipe with Coconut and Lavender
You'll love this simple Coconut Lavender Moisturizer Recipe!
Have you ever been in a situation where you've run out of your favorite natural moisturizer, and aren't in a position to get more right away?
I want to share a recipe for making your own moisturizer in a pinch. It only requires two ingredients, both of which you may already have!
They are coconut oil and Lavender essential oil.
This easy moisturizer recipe can be a real "life saver"if you run out of moisturizer and can't get more right away. (It may even become your new favorite moisturizer!)
Coconut Lavender Moisturizer
1 oz (28 g) Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera)
How to make it . . .
You can make this blend in a 1 oz (30 ml) jar. Just put the coconut oil into the jar, and use your finger or the handle of a stainless steel spoon to make a little depression in the coconut oil. (This is assuming that your coconut oil is solid. Coconut oil becomes a liquid if the room temperature where it's stored is warm enough.) Add the 12 drops of Lavender essential oil into the little depression, and mush it all together gently with the handle of your spoon.
A little of this moisturizer goes a long way. Just a bit of it on your fingertip can be enough to smooth over your whole arm!
Lavender essential oil is amazing for skin! I love it in blends to restore skin after damage and reduce inflammation. Lavender is very gentle for sensitive skin. It's even one of my go-to oils for children.
Coconut oil also offers beautiful nourishment to skin. It helps to support skin's overall health from day to day. It's great for dry skin, sensitive skin, and for soothing patches of irritation. And coconut oil is so gentle and safe that you can eat it!
This moisturizer recipe offers a lot of support with very few ingredients.
I have a fun variation of this moisturizer recipe on YouTube, where I make it with a few different essential oils. If you watch the video, you can see what I mean by "make a little depression in the coconut oil."/p>
Out of coconut oil? No problem! You can use any natural carrier oil or skin nourishing butter you have.
