Peggy Filock

Aromatherapy Certification Program graduate
🌱 Certified Aromatherapist

Wanting to continue with my love for Aromatherapy I stumbled upon the Aromahead Institute while searching online and as the saying goes, the rest is history!

Her story

How Peggy grew a second garden in Florida.

I am originally from Western NY where I worked as a Music Therapist in addition to owning a business called the Victorian Herb Garden - 50 wooded acres partially planted in Ginseng + a large display herb garden, antique roses, greenhouse, retail shop, and classes on aromatherapy and herbs. Ten years ago I moved to Englewood, FL. I continued a private practice in Music Therapy and Sound Healing.

I now have a tiny homestead and business in Englewood called Lemon Bay Organics where I grow herbs, medicinal plants, and Moringa. In addition, I have created a line of apothecary products and herbal teas that are featured in cafes in Englewood and Gulfport, FL.

What she’s building

Lemon Bay Organics

Offer organically grown Moringa teas and powder, fresh greens in season. On-line store with herbal teas, apothecary items, and accessories.

The first thing I'm going to do is purchase a copper alembic still and begin distilling my own hydrosols with plants I can grow myself. I'm especially eager to distill a Moringa hydrosol. Moringa is such a vitamin-rich immune booster and I have never found a Moringa hydrosol. I definitely plan on taking the scholars program. I would like to offer aromatherapy consultations as part of my business.

The best parts of learning here

What made the difference, in Peggy’s words.

Peggy ran an herb farm before she found Aromahead. Here is what the chemistry journey felt like, in her own words.

Overwhelm is normal

Chemistry feels big at first, and the program says so out loud.

I'll admit I felt overwhelmed at first when being introduced to the chemistry of EO.

The lesson that kept her going

One teaching carried her through the whole course.

frustration is part of the learning process.

Frustration became fuel

The not-knowing turned into the drive that led to understanding.

The not knowing, the frustration then became my driving force - knowing that the next step would be an understanding that would eventually lead to those ah-ha moments of 'now I get it!
