Shennae Steele
Aromatherapy Certification Program graduate“My goal is to help those who are ready to heal their body traditionally with a modern twist.”
How Shennae's healing journey became her work.
My name is Shennae Steele and I am the proud owner and creator of Di Vine beauty. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica and moved to Canada at the age of 14. The story behind Di Vine beauty actually started with my love for track and field which triggered my growth and evolution as a woman.
My talents in track afforded me the opportunity to study abroad at the Iowa Western Community College and Abilene Christian University as a student-athlete in graphic design. I set numerous records some of which have yet to be broken. My talents took me back to Jamaica in 2017 to train at one of the best camps where I had my spiritual awakening. I felt called to help my sister “transition back to natural” when she struggled with eczema.
This calling grew the more I was encouraged to participate in craft affairs, one in particular Market on the lawn” that was held at Devon House in Kingston. This was the birth of Di Vine beauty. Amongst working as a beauty advisor, studying to become an aromatherapist, and yoni steam practitioner I was still training as a track athlete.
In 2020, my track career came to an abrupt end when I was a pedestrian hit by a car. This near-death experience changed my life and consequently, gave birth to a new vision for Di Vine beauty. I wasn’t able to do anything physical for a long time. And because I had so much free time I focused on rebranding my business to reflect on how using traditional practices can help the body heal naturally, the inspiration behind that is my grandma who is the face on my logo. Of course, I had help!
I am still not able to do a lot of things due to my physical limitations but I am healing every day. Being an accident survivor isn’t easy. Sometimes being told that nothing is wrong when your body feels otherwise is frustrating. The hardest part for me is not being able to train but I still incorporate my experience on and off the track into my business.
Di Vine Beauty Wellness
My main focus when I started my business was just to provide authentic Jamaican oils and body butters. Now I have a deeper calling.
I will be using my skills to further add a little spice to myself and to the business. Mixing a bit of traditional practices with a modern twist, with my exposure to my extensive essential oil knowledge I will be able to give more options to my clients. Helping men and women with embarking on a holistic lifestyle.
Di Vine beauty has given me a way to share my healing journey and I am so grateful to be able to provide my clients with natural ways of healing!
Aromahead has been a vital part of my growth and their certifications have helped me to gain knowledge to begin and grow my business. Teaching me techniques and methods on how to improve myself and my business. I would like to say a big thank you to the staff of Aromahead and Ann for helping me along with this journey.
