How Ashley found the way in.
From a young age I knew exactly what I wanted to do in this life. I wanted to help others find peace and happiness.
I grew up understanding the consequences of poor health when those near and dear to me have suffered from the many symptoms of illness like diabetic peripheral nerve pain, anxiety or stress-related panic attacks, auto-immune related joint pain and physical damage, many of the symptoms and struggles related to cancer treatments and other physically or mentally damaging side effects of disease or illness.
I believe that I have always been gifted with a strong sense of empathy towards others and have naturally been guided toward holistic therapies that help people, and animals alike, to improve their quality of life. My skill set includes various modalities that contribute to the different bodies of wellness (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual). In April of 2011, I graduated from Connecticut Center of Massage Therapy in Newington, CT.
I applied my therapeutic knowledge of massaging the soft tissue of the body in various clinics in North Carolina. As a Massage Therapist, it is very fulfilling to have the ability to create such an impact in the lives of those with chronic pain or in need of stress-relief. As a Certified Aromatherapist, I am excited to share why this particular integrative therapy is absolutely amazing!
Defined by the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy - Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, is the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It seeks to unify physiological, psychological and spiritual processes to enhance an individual's innate healing process.
I began my Aromatherapy education in the spring/summer of 2015 with the intention of providing higher quality, healthier essential oils for my clients in aromatherapy massage. I started using the oils for self-care at home and continued to learn more about the enormous therapeutic benefits they offer. May 20th, 2015 I proceeded my enrollment with Aromahead Institute, school of essential oil studies.
Aromahead Institute provided an evidence based approach to incorporating intensive science and practical hands-on instruction. My focus is to continue to develop my knowledge and skill in the world of essential oils and other integrative therapies that can help others with simple day-to-day applications to more demanding physical, mental, emotional or spiritual needs.
