Cathie Richardson
Aromatherapy Certification Program graduate“an adventure in my kitchen with a double boiler, little bowls of carrier oils, and counting out drops of essential oils.”
How Cathie blended her way in.
I started studying the benefits of essential oils a few years ago after I began using botanical products for my skin. I assembled a collection of my favorite scents and made my own blends for my home diffuser, massage oil for my hands as I have symptoms of repetitive stress syndrome, and other products. I enjoy the natural fragrances that are more subtle and calming to use on a daily basis and I've noticed improvements in my well being after using them.
I decided I wanted to learn more and spent 2020 studying to get my aromatherapy certification. It has been a fun challenge (math refresher) and I've really enjoyed learning the science and the health benefits of the essential and carrier oils. It's has been an adventure in my kitchen with a double boiler, little bowls of carrier oils, and counting out drops of essential oils.
I like to sit down with my box of aromatic oils, my notebook, and research a new blend for a product. I've learned that even with the components of the oils, aromas, and carriers to choose from there is also an intuitive and creative aspect to blending as well that I really enjoy.
Rugosa and Pine
I started my Rugosa and Pine Etsy shop because I enjoy creating blends to help make life changes a bit easier such as menopause and grief and wanted to help others with feeling more balanced and grounded.
I also love natural perfumes! I have a collection of twelve, one for each sign of the zodiac. My business has just begun and I look forward to see where it goes and how I can help others with it.
I really enjoyed learning about aromatherapy at Aromahead. It is such a professional program with an easy to navigate website and enthusiastic instructors. They make learning the material fun and really interesting. I got so much out of all of it and I especially enjoyed the anatomy and physiology course because of how it was presented and taught.

What made the difference, in Cathie’s words.
Cathie almost talked herself out of the certification. Here is what she found on the other side, in her own words.
Professional, and genuinely fun
A well-built program with instructors whose enthusiasm makes the material stick.

Anatomy that holds your interest
Even the science-heavy coursework is presented so you enjoy learning it.

The case studies are worth it
The part that almost deterred her became the part that taught her the most.
I almost let the case studies and the research paper deter me from taking the course wondering if I had the motivation to see it through. I found I got so much out of the case studies and learned so much.
