Cheryl Zachariason
Aromatherapy Certification Program graduate“I look forward to a new and exciting future in Aromatherapy - wherever that may lead me!”
How her mother’s oils became Cheryl’s calling.
I'm Cheryl, a 58-year-old graphic designer in Northern California. And I am so excited to have completed my Aromatherapy Certification!
Quite a few years ago, my mother gave me her large collection of essential oils. She was always interested in more natural products, but she never really took the time to learn about the therapeutic properties of essential oils, nor how to use them safely and effectively. Eventually, I ended up with this large collection of oils, but I had no idea what I should do with them either. I slowly started learning more about essential oils and started diffusing them. I then became interested in using them topically but wanted to do so safely. I started doing some of my own research and eventually signed up for a free class on how to use essential oils - my first introduction to Aromahead - and I was hooked! I signed up for the ACP that day.
I'm not quite sure where my aromatherapy career will lead me. I am interested in finding alternatives to pharmaceutical medications whenever possible and I am hoping I can use aromatherapy in a setting that supports that. For now, I am creating blends for family and friends - mainly focusing on my aging mother, who has many aches and pains. I can create custom blends for her and help to ease some of her issues. I also love making lip balms and I get frequent requests for those from my friends.
Lavender Lady
I don't have my own business yet, but I currently make blends for friends and family and they call me Lavender Lady.
I love everything about Aromahead! The course materials are very well structured. The flow of information and the blending exercises were all so easy to follow. It is an awesome feeling to truly have an education in the wonderful world of Aromatherapy. I have learned so much about the chemistry of essential oils and the therapeutic properties.

What made the difference, in Cheryl’s words.
Cheryl inherited a box of oils and went looking for real answers. Here is what she found, in her own words.

Respect for every drop
Chemistry, therapeutic properties, and how much plant material sits behind each precious drop.
I have learned so much about the chemistry of essential oils and the therapeutic properties. I developed a respect for the different processes of extraction - and how much plant material is sometimes used to just get a few drops of precious oil.
A clear path, one step at a time.
Cheryl is a graduate of the Aromatherapy Certification (Pathway 3), earning her Certified Professional Aromatherapist credential. It is a cumulative path: each step includes everything before it, and you can climb as far as you like, at your own pace. See the full path →
