How a fight to live sent Andrea back to her roots.
I grew up with a mother and grandmother who believed in natural healthcare. I was sickly and they were always mixing up something for me... that worked!
I have always supported holistic healthcare. I had a fantastic career and suddenly my life took a very unpleasant turn. The story is too long to tell here, but after many surgeries, and tons of ugly medicine, my fight to live sent me back to my roots. My deceased grandmother reminded me of the power of the flower. (Just made that up but it works).
I began studying how to support my own recovery. I began to do and accomplish things I never thought I would do again. I had a passion to learn more. I was led to Andrea Butje and the Aromahead Institute. My journey here has just begun, my studies will continue. So much more to learn!
My journey has led me to having a career in Aromatherapy and being able to be a blessing to as many people as I can to help support their health - Naturally!

Andrea dreaded the chemistry most. Here is what happened instead, in her own words.
She panicked at the chemistry
A childhood dream of medicine came with one dread: the science of molecules.
I loved all sciences except chemistry. I had absolutely no desire to study chemistry at all. When I found out there was a chemistry section in this course I literally panicked.
Then she got through it
The teaching met her where she was, and the pride at the far side was real.
I actually could understand her. I could follow this. I was soooo proud that I got through this and couldn't believe it.
Now she wants more of it
The subject she feared became the one she chases.
Now I am like Chemical Components come on!!! I can't wait to learn more about Essential Oil Chemistry. Who woulda thunk it???
