Aromatherapy Certification Program graduate
🌱 Certified Aromatherapist

At that moment I realized that essential oils have potential.

His story

How Jason fell into aromatherapy.

I was first exposed to essential oils sometime in 2013, but I had no guidance on what to do with them or how to use them.

Then one afternoon in May 2014, I was in the attic of my house while a plumber was rerouting some plumbing lines. I noticed a lot of debris in the attic left behind by the previous owner, including a wooden toilet seat, of all things.I tried to retrieve that toilet seat to get rid of it, but stepped between the wood support beams. Then I heard a creaking noise, and at that moment, I knew I messed up. A second later, I looked up in disbelief at the giant hole I created in the ceiling. There were cuts, scrapes and drywall dust all over my body, but the biggest injury was to my ego.

After washing the injuries with soap and water, I grabbed a jar of coconut oil and lavender essential oil because I'd recently read that these substances were well known for healing wounds, as Rene Gattefosse had figured out a century earlier. I slathered the Lavencoke mixture on my wounds and sat down at my desk to figure out what to do next. After about 15 minutes, I began to feel somewhat sedate and tranquil about everything. I was no longer agitated or confused and my pain decreased. At that moment I realized that essential oils have potential. My wounds soon healed and I got the hole repaired.

I enrolled in the ACP program through Aromahead in March 2020 to take my knowledge to the next level. Over the course of seven months I developed a talent for addressing symptoms of arthritis and psoriasis and learned how aromatherapy can have a role in managing sports injuries.Nowadays, having recently graduated from Aromahead, I share my knowledge and wisdom with my followers on Facebook and Instagram. I live in El Mirage, Arizona with my son Wes and highly-photogenic-scaredy-tabby-cat Jackson.

What he’s building

Jason Conifer

Aromatherapy Consultations and Bespoke Products for Active Adults Afflicted with Sports Injuries, Arthritis and Psoriasis to Reduce Stress and Enhance Wellness.

I enjoyed the online format, which allowed for maximum flexibility. The anatomy and physiology portion of the course was highly informative without being overwhelming. The component blending course is a nice addition to the program and really helps the student understand blending from a chemical perspective. The case studies helped me work with people in a "real-world" setting and I was able to do it entirely remotely via Zoom calls.

The best parts of learning here

What made the difference, in Jason’s words.

Jason set out to go beyond the hobby stage in aromatherapy. Here is what that looked like inside the program.

Depth without overwhelm

Anatomy and physiology is taught thoroughly and plainly, so the science stays welcoming the whole way.

The anatomy and physiology portion of the course was highly informative without being overwhelming.

Blending, explained by chemistry

The Component Blending course shows you why a blend works, straight from the chemistry of each oil.

The component blending course is a nice addition to the program and really helps the student understand blending from a chemical perspective.

Real-world practice, fully remote

Mentored case studies bring real people into your training, and Jason completed his entirely by video call.
