Wendy is a working mom. Her husband and two daughters are the most important to her. She has a bachelor's in mathematics and is a licensed massage therapist and certified aromatherapist in the state of Florida. She received her BS at UWF in 2005 and has been practicing massage since 1997. She has had an interest in health since high school.
Wendy was recognized in 2016 by her peers from the FSMTA and was awarded Sports Massage Therapist of the Year. That same year she began working with the Air Force Wounded Warrior Team and helped them compete at the 2016 Warrior Games at West Point Military Academy in West Point, NY. She turned down an offer to work at the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games to work with AFW2 at their camps and Warrior Games for the wounded warriors.
She got into massage by accident. Not really. She was spoiled by her grandmother while she was growing up. Wendy was always a tom boy and very athletic, so when she would come home sore after softball practice in junior high she would ask her grandmother for a massage. Her grandmother was a natural at it, always applied the right amount of pressure.
The interesting thing is with her being such a left brained person, hence the mathematics degree, some of the things she learned had to be proven to her that they actually worked, such as acupressure. Later, by deductive reasoning, based on things she had learned over the years everything started to make sense. Now she's a little more open minded, but she still likes her proof!
