Lavender Lagoon Relaxing Bath Salt with Essential Oils
A Relaxing Bath Salt with Essential Oils of Lavender and Roman Chamomile
Some people keep a "to do list."
Lavender keeps a "relaxation list."
Here's what it looks like right now:
Take a bath
Go to bed early
Take a bath
Go for a walk and appreciate the beauty of the world
Eat a nourishing meal . . . slowly savor each bite!
Make a relaxing bath salt with essential oils
Take a bath
Safe to say that Lavender essential oil loves relaxing baths, right?
And that's no surprise. Have you ever noticed the way a nice warm bath can seem to dissolve the tension from your muscles, even easing things like spasms and inflammation? Lavender loves these natural effects!
I think it might also make this relaxing bath salt with essential oils to deepen its relaxation!
Lavender Lagoon Relaxing Bath Salt
4 oz (112 g) pink Himalayan salt
1 tbsp (15 ml) Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis)
4 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
1 drop Roman Chamomile essential oil (Chamaemelum nobile)
DIRECTIONS
Make this blend in a container that holds at least 4 oz (120 ml).
Add salt into jar.
Add the essential oils to the jojoba, then stir into the salt with a glass stirring rod or the handle of a stainless steel spoon.
This makes enough for one bath—you can just put all of the salt right into the water!
You can also make it last for two baths, if you like. But I don't recommend storing this for too long, since there are no preservatives in this blend. You'll want to make yourself a fresh bath salt every few weeks.
Why I Chose these Ingredients for My Bath Salt with Essential Oils
Roman Chamomile and Lavender essential oils are sweetly gentle for skin, soothe the nervous system, offer emotional balance, and help muscles release tension.
Together (along with some warm water!) they can help you feel a sense of perspective where worries aren't as pressing.
Note: Carrier oils can make the bathtub slippery. Another option is to use Castile soap to disperse the essential oils in the bath water.
If you prefer to use Castile soap, simply add the essential oils to 1 tablespoon of Castile soap. Castile soap can sometimes cause the salt to harden, so we recommend adding the salt directly to the bath water.
Enjoy turning your bathroom into a relaxing lavender lagoon!
